Origins Complete

Today I close a chapter of my creative journey.

​Origins Complete is here: a 3-disc album archiving the entire Origins era: original LP, remix LP, and Fragments LP.

“I let go when I need to let go.”

Something I’ve been growing in, slowly, surely.

Looking back, Origins was really all about letting go. Musically, for sure - an essentially ambient moniker to that point, throwing caution to the wind with mangled vocals, tapey experiments, electronica sensibilities all over for the first time, new layers of synths + samplers + everything in between.

But, it was also a point in my life where I felt I needed to let go of pieces of myself even - what should or shouldn’t be when it came to finding my place as an artist, creator, a person. Introspection, emotion, melancholy, introversion; alongside joy, laughter, confidence, dreaming big. It’s all real, it’s all a mess. A mess I’m learning to not only accept, but even embrace.

When I look back, that kind of sums up this entire Origins journey: a blend of the beautiful, melodic, joyful, all in the midst of the strange, melancholy, gritty… the mess.

So, yeah. Just spilling out some thoughts as I look back on an important part of my journey. One where I learned, and am still learning, how to let go.
